ABOUT TOMMY
For over the past decade, Tommy McKone has served at nearly every level of government and politics. Tommy began his career in Washington, D.C. working on Capitol Hill for several Republican Members of Congress and around the country running operations and communications on highly contested state, local and federal political campaigns. In addition, McKone formed and led government affairs and communications strategy at a leading global security consulting firm based out of Washington, D.C. At the firm, McKone represented some of the world’s largest companies, Native American Tribes and Foreign Governments before the Executive and Legislative Branches of the U.S. Federal Government.
Prior to founding McKone Strategies, Tommy served as Director of Government and External Affairs for Maricopa County Sheriff Paul Penzone for over 4 years. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) is the largest county law enforcement agency in the State of Arizona and 4th largest in the United States.
At MCSO, McKone served as Chief Advisor to the Sheriff on all state, local and federal legislative matters. In addition, Tommy served as the Sheriff's liaison with non-profits, business organizations, Chambers of Commerce, trade associations, local, state and national law enforcement and community organizations, municipal governments, the Arizona State Legislature, Arizona State Agencies, the Governor's Office as well as the federal government, relative federal agencies and the White House.
Tommy is a proud 4th generation Phoenix native and Brophy Prep and Southern Methodist University graduate. Active in his community, Tommy has served on the Chris-Town YMCA Board, Silent Witness of Arizona, the Board of Directors of Boys Hope Girls Hope of Arizona, the Arizona Business and Education Coalition (ABEC), a member of the Phoenix Men's Arts Council and Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations (PCFR). He is currently serving as an Independent Director for the Southwest Section PGA Board of Directors. He is married to his high school sweetheart Jenny and they have 3 sons Brady, Teddy and Mack and Bogey, their Goldendoodle. The McKone family resides in Central Phoenix.
